40 day Global Sadhana

Our sadhana is our daily practice, our discipline. The Aquarian Sadhana is a longer morning practice that can be done on your own or in a group, which magnifies the effects.  

Yogi Bhajan taught that if we practice the same kriya or meditation every day for 40 days straight (no days off!), it will break any negative habits that block us from the expansion that is possible through the kriya. If we continue for 90 days it will establish the new habit in our consciousness and will change us in a very deep way. 120 days of continuous practice will confirm the new habit of consciousness, and in 1000 days we will master it. 

Global Sadhana with Spirit Voyage

Spirit Voyage regularly organise 40 day Global Sadhanas.  They are led by beautiful teachers and musicians such as Snatam Kaur, Jai-Jagdeesh and Gurunam Singh, and hosted by Ramdesh Kaur.  These global events involve well over 10,000 yogis around the world joining in the same practice during a 40 day period. You can read more about the Spirit Voyage Global Sadhanas here.

You may have heard the statistic that it takes the square root of 1% of a population to make a shift in the consciousness of the whole group. So when 10,000 yogis are meditating together for 40 days that’s making a powerful impact on this planet of 7 billion beings!

Joining a 40 day Global Sadhana is a great way to have the support of both instructions and community if you wish to start a practice at home. 

We sometimes practice these meditations in class, so you may recognise some of the meditations below.

Join a 40 day Global Sadhana

You can join one of the 40 day Global Sadhanas while it’s live. If you register at SpiritVoyage.com you will receive notification of forthcoming sadhanas, and during the 40 day period you will receive an email every day to help you keep up.

Alternatively, you can choose a global sadhana that resonates with you and start whenever you want, following the video on Spirit Voyage or YouTube. You can still tune into the energy of the worldwide group who practised it at the time, and feel supported by this.

You will find all the previous global sadhanas here on the Spirit Voyage website, or you can search on YouTube for ‘global sadhana’. You will usually find one video with an introduction and the instructions, and a second one with the meditation which you can practice along with.

Some of the mantras are easier than others!  Start with a simple one, for example:

 If you feel more adventurous, you can try those with a longer mantra such as So Purkh for Attracting the Blessings of Love, or Bhand Jammee-ai for Honouring the Divine Feminine.

The important thing is to commit to your 40 day practice, making a commitment to yourself and your healing and growth.
